Plaud Note Pro review
Our verdict
Plaud Note Pro is a capable card-style recorder, but Notta Memo is our preferred purchase. David Wilson favoured Notta after using both; Plaud remains relevant if its automatic recording-mode selection or longer endurance mode suits your routine.
Design and how it attaches to your phone
Plaud Note Pro uses a slim card shape with a display and magnetic case. Phone attachment keeps the recorder available without adding another item to your pocket. The screen makes recording status visible, which matters when you want to confirm capture without checking the app.
Recording phone calls vs in-person meetings
Plaud Note Pro switches automatically between call and room recording. That reduces the steps before recording, but correct placement still matters. A meeting requires a microphone position that can hear everyone; call capture requires the recorder to work with the phone rather than sitting elsewhere in the room.
Transcription and summaries
Plaud turns uploaded recordings into searchable text and structured notes. Treat a summary as a navigation aid, especially where names, deadlines or commitments matter. Review the transcript and original audio before sending an action list to colleagues.
Battery life and storage
Plaud advertises 30 hours in Enhanced mode and 50 hours in Endurance mode, with a reduced pickup range in the latter. Internal storage is 64GB. These are specifications, not our timed results, and recording capacity should not be confused with monthly transcription allowance.
Plaud plans: what the subscription adds
Starter includes 300 monthly transcription minutes. Pro increases that to 1,200 and Unlimited removes the standard monthly minute cap subject to its terms. For a lighter workload, start with the included plan rather than paying before you know your usage.
Plaud Note Pro vs Plaud Note: is the Pro worth it?
Within Plaud’s card range, we favour the Pro for a new purchase when the premium is modest. Existing Note owners should upgrade for a specific useful feature, rather than expecting a completely different software service. Buyers open to another brand should read our Notta comparison first.
Frequently asked questions
Can you use Plaud Note Pro without a subscription?
Yes, within the included Starter allowance. Recording audio and obtaining paid cloud transcription are separate parts of the workflow.
Is there something better than Plaud?
Our preferred recorder is Notta Memo, based on David Wilson’s experience. It is the first alternative we would consider.
Which is better, Plaud or Pocket?
We favour Plaud Note Pro for a conventional meeting-and-call workflow. Pocket is worth considering for its advertised unlimited core processing; the better fit depends on your workflow.
How long does the Plaud Note Pro battery last?
The advertised maximum is 50 hours in Endurance mode, or 30 hours in Enhanced mode. Actual runtime depends on settings and use.
Does Plaud Note Pro work with Android?
Plaud supports an Android companion app. Check the current app requirements and phone attachment before buying.
