Plaud Note review

Our verdict

The original Plaud Note still makes sense when it is meaningfully cheaper than the Pro. For a new purchase at a small price difference, we favour Plaud Note Pro; across brands, Notta Memo is our preferred recorder.

How we assessed it

This researched assessment uses published specifications. It does not claim a first-hand laboratory test; the Testbench score is an editorial rating, not a measurement.

Is the original Plaud Note still worth buying?

The original Plaud Note remains useful for recording calls and meetings. Its value depends on the discount and whether you need the Pro’s newer controls. Do not replace a working recorder simply because a newer model exists; compare the feature you would gain with the full upgrade cost.

Call recording and meetings

Plaud Note uses separate modes for call capture and surrounding speech. Selecting the right mode is part of setup, especially when switching quickly between a conversation in the room and a phone call. Review a brief sample if your case or phone attachment changes.

Battery and storage

Manufacturer figures are useful for planning, but recording endurance does not determine how much transcription your plan includes. Make sure the recorder is charged and the last recording has synced before an extended session. Keeping an original audio copy also makes later transcript checking possible.

Plaud Note vs Note Pro

The Pro adds more sophisticated recording controls and an endurance option. The original Note is the economical choice within Plaud when discounted; the Pro is our preference when the premium is small. Read the comparison for the practical trade-offs rather than treating a higher model name as an automatic improvement.
